Tweet by company- "Google DNS 8.8.8.8/32 was hijacked for ~22min yesterday, affecting networks in Brazil & Venezuela"
Basically, DNS translates its stored domain names to their numerical IP addresses for locating devices around the globe. This attack was done by exploiting Boarder Gateway Protocol (BGP). Google's DNS servers handles queries of around 150 Billion users a day, so the 22 minute deflection meant a lot to Google services. The originators of this attack are still under cover and much more information is hidden behind the attack.
